Walk Far To Conquer

Just a dog

From time to time, people tell me, "lighten up,
it's just a dog," or, "that's a lot of money for just a dog."
They don't understand the distance
traveled, the time spent, or the costs involved for "just a dog."

Some of my proudest moments have come about with"just a dog."
Many hours have passed and my only company was "just a dog,"
and I did not once feel slighted.

Some of my saddest moments have been brought about
by "just a dog," and in those days of darkness, the gentle touch
of "just a dog" gave me comfort and reason to overcome the day.

If you, too, think it's "just a dog," then you will
probably understand phrases like "just a friend," "just a sunrise," or
"just a promise," "just a Sister."

"Just a dog" brings into my life the very essence of
friendship, trust, and pure unbridled joy.

"Just a dog" brings out the compassion and patience
that makes me a better person.

Because of "just a dog", I will rise early, take
long walks and look longingly to the future. So for me and folks like
me, it's not "just a dog,"
but an embodiment of all the hopes and dreams of the
future, the fond memories of the past, and the pure joy of the
moment.

"Just a dog" brings out what's good in me and
diverts my thoughts away from
myself and the worries of the day
.
I hope that someday they can understand that it's
not "just a dog", but the
thing that gives me humanity and keeps me from being
"just a man ."

So the next time you hear the phrase "just a dog",
just smile -- because they "just don't understand".

Dogs & Liverpool FC Are In My Blood My Family Are In My Heart

To be apart of a family like mine
is so divine
where love is shown
hurt is shared
our love for each other is never impaired

we talk
we laugh
we cry

but we are a family
and we do it all together
for as a family
we do it all as one

you hurt one
you hurt all
and as a family unit
we will all stand tall

for we are family
a family full of strength
a family full of love
a family no one can touch
that, s why I love my family so much

Below is a Poem Not About Dogs But If You Have A Heart You May Like It

LOOK AT ME

What do you see, nurses, what do you see?

What are you thinking when you're looking at me?

A crabby old woman, not very wise

Uncertain of habit, with faraway eyes?

Who dribbles her food and makes no reply

When you say in a loud voice, "I do wish you'd try!"

Who seems not to notice the things that you do

And forever is losing a stocking or shoe

Who, resisting or not, lets you do as you will,

With bathing and feeding, and giving me pillsl

Is that what you're thinking? Is that what you see?

Then open your eyes, nurse; you're not looking at me.

I'll tell you who I am as I sit here so still

As I do at your bidding, as I eat at your will.

I'm a small child of ten...with a father and mother

Brothers and sisters, who love one another

A young girl of sixteen, with wings on her feet

Dreaming that soon now a lover she'll meet.

A bride soon at twenty -- my heart gives a leap

Remembering the vows that I promised to keep

At twenty-five now, I have young of my own

Who need me to provide them a secure happy home.

A woman of thirty, my young now growing fast,

Bound to each other with ties that should last.

At forty, my young sons have grown and are gone

But my man's beside me to see I don't mourn.

At sixty once more, babies play round my knee

Again we know children, my loved one and me

Dark days are upon me, my husband is dead

I look at the future and I shudder with dread

For my young are all rearing young of their own

And I think of the years and the love that I've known.

I'm now an old woman...and nature is cruel

'Tis jest to make old people look like a fool.

The body, it crumbles, grace and vigor depart

There is now a stone where I once had a heart.

But inside this old carcass a young girl still dwells

And now and again my battered heart swells.

I remember the joys

I remember the pain

And I'm loving and living life over again.

I think of the years...all too few, gone too fast

And accept the stark fact that nothing can last

So open your eyes, people, open and see

Not a crabby old woman; look closer.....

Remember this poem when you next meet an old person who you might brush aside without looking at the young soul within...Lord willing we will one day be there also!

THIS POEM WAS WROTE BY OUR SON MATTHEW

I was not born on that day but my father told me the day my city cried the day its heart was broken

96 went to see my beloved Liverpool play but never came home we will remember them on this day

Our hearts blend a river of flowers that covered the green grass of Anfield

On the mighty kop where so many battles had been won people stood and thanked god that there loved one’s

Had come home but a piece of the kop was broken and will never be replaced.

We will remember the 96 that never came home

Red and blue stood side by side and showed the world how big our heart is that’s the heart of Liverpool.

We will remember them they will never walk alone they will always walk with us

A flame will burn in all our hearts even on the darkest days that flame will burn bright so we will remember them

Our hearts will grow old but the flame will always burn bright

On this day think of them but remember your family and friends it only took 6 minuets for 96 hearts to stop beating look at your family and the people you love and tell them how much you love them, remember a lot can be lost in 6 minuets

We will remember them they will never walk alone

15th April 1989 Liverpool and Nottingham Forest met in the semi-final of the FA Cup at Hillsborough, Sheffield. Ninety-six football supporters lost their lives that day. May they rest in peace.
